[People skating at first Grundy Skating Rink constructed in 1970 at Jefferson Avenue and Prospect Streets]
Later a roof was added and then it was totally enclosed in 1975. It burned in 1995 and a new rink complex was constructed at Beaver and Canal Streets and was opened in 1997. -

Opened in 1900, the park attracted thousands in season. Until 1917, only small amusements rides (swings etc.) were available. In 1917 large amusements continued until fire nearly destroyed the island’s rides in 1928. In 1934 another fire finished the job. Swimming, boating, and picnics were always popular. -
[King George II Inn with foot race participants posing in front of the building]
First established in 1681 as the Ferry House. The present structure was built in 1765. It became the King George Hotel, The Fountain House, The Delaware House, and then the King George II Inn. This is a group who participated in the first annual King George Foot Race. It later became known as the Mill Street Run.

[Island Beach Park on Burlington Island, opposite Bristol]
The use of canoes on the Delaware River were very popular. An amusement park on the island burned in 1928 and again in 1934, which ended the operation. -
[Grundy Recreation Center]
Opened in 1997 and the ice rink was doubled in size by 2000. Built on the site of the Leedom Carpet Mill. Original ice rink was opened in 1970, next to the canal lagoon. Fire destroyed it in 1995 and the new rink was relocated and opened in 1997.
