[Postcard: Sherman & Peirce Mill]
Sherman & Peirce Mill. Building was located on Canal Street opposite of Dorrance Street, built in 1873. It was later operated as Sherman and Peirce. When Sherman died, it became known as the Bristol Woodworking Mill operated by Peirce and Williams. In 1891, a fire destroyed the building. Site later became Stonebacks Lumber. -

Located on Beaver Street near Pond Street and opened in 1877. Was the last mill brought to Bristol by the Bristol Improvement Company. The carpet mill closed in the 1950s and an oil industry used the building until it was removed for the construction of the Grundy Recreation Center and Ice Rink circa 2000. -

Located along the former path of the PA Railroad before it was elevated. Purchased after 1887, the mill manufactured men’s worsted fabrics. The mill was located between Washington and Lafayette Street along the canal. -

Built in 1914 at Beaver and Prospect Streets at a cost of $75,000. Bristol’s previous post office was on Radcliffe Street at Market Street. Bristol’s first post office was on Mill Street, started in 1790. -

There are over 12,000 admissions every year. The hospitals auxiliary has 1300 members in 14 units, with over 300 volunteers in cherry red uniforms."

On back of postcard: "Delaware Valley Hospital, Phone ST 8-8484, Bristol, Penna. A non-profit, accredited hospital, in the heart of Bristol, with 80 beds and 12 bassinets. There are over 3000 admissions yearly. The hospital has an auxiliary and 3 guilds with over 80 volunteers."

[Postcard: Believed to be the first building of the Beaver Fire Company No. 4]
Written on back of postcard: "Mrs. Lizzie Grow." [donor]. One cent stamp attached.
Prior to the construction of the elevated railroad, this fire company was located facing Beaver Street opposite the current post office building (as of 2018). When the railroad was constructed, the fire company moved to Mansion Street between Beaver Street and Jefferson Avenue. Beaver Fire Company No. 4 no longer exists. -

Bristol Borough Municipal Building opened in 1927, including the fire company and engines, were a gift to the Borough by Joseph R. Grundy. Located at Pond Street and Mulberry Street, it replaced the old town hall which was located in the middle of Market Street facing Radcliffe Street.
